About Us
Solis Capital is a trusted source of advice to boutique fund managers, asset managers and fast growing, enterpreneurial businesses
Solis Capital was created by Christopher Down, previously the founder and CEO of Hearthstone Investments, a residential fund manager which launched the UK's first residential PAIF and now manages over £500m.
Our small team provides consultancy services to clients in the housing and green energy sectors, whether they are existing fund managers looking to diversify into a new asset class or asset owners intending to raise external capital. We also develop our own funds to fill specific institutional investor needs.

We also have an extensive track record in supporting property sector businesses which are either in distress or undergoing periods of significant change.

Some of the projects we have created or advised on include:

-
A social impact fund to create the UK's first private-rented housing portfolio for long-term rent by tenants. Despite over 1 million wheelchair users living in the UK, there is virtually no provision of homes to rent, outside of council owned housing. (www.abodeimpact.co.uk)

-
Change management consultancy surrounding the transfer of accounting and administration services of a listed property REIT under significant time pressure due to market-driven reporting deadlines.

-
Contributing to the strategic planning of a proptech firm seeking to disrupt the way buy-to-let landlords buy and sell property investments.

-
Designing a fund for a major UK property management business who were seeking an opportunity to channel buy-to-let clients into a fund-based structure as an alternative to direct ownership.

We are currently engaged in significant activity in the solar PV sector, working to create higher than standard returns at lower carbon emissions cost, through a variety of methodologies to improve on traditional solar farms.

We welcome expressions of interest from:

-
Solar PV installers and operators with significant capacity to scale, located in countries with very high PV potential
-
Governments of countries with high PV potential where there is currently unmet demand for new installations
-
Investors seeking an innovative allocation of capital to solar PV, where the focus of the investment strategy is not just financial return but also the highest possible net CO2 reduction (taking into account initial materials costs etc)
